Thomas Cecil's main occupation was hairdresser, and he may have offered portrait photography as a sideline in the early 1900s. Alternatively, the cabinet card above could have been produced by an unknown photographer as an advertising card for Cecil's hairdressing business . Cecil and family lived in Penge, London until the late 1890s when they moved to Southampton. The census records for 1901 and 1911 listed Thomas John Cecil, hairdresser, at 85 Derby Road. T.J Cecil died in Bristol in 1935.
